Future Creator Cadets returns on January 21st
The programme will run for 10 weeks, with workshops taking place every Monday from 3.30pm to 5pm at The Digital Hub’s Learning Studio.
In today’s digital world there is an ever-increasing need for young people to develop their digital and STEM competences, so they can play an active role in society. Future Creators Cadets, which has been inspired by the Future Creators Programme for older kids aged between 13 and 16 years old, provides opportunities to develop such competences.
Targeted at children aged between 10 and 12 years of age, they get a chance to work creatively with video and sound editing, micro:bits and using a hands-on approach that enables them to design and create digital artefacts that are meaningful to their lives. During the workshops they work collaboratively in teams with their fellow Cadets, in a creative and friendly atmosphere.
Future Creators Cadets is an after-school digital learning programme for young people aged 10-to-12 years old from Dublin 8. Future Creators Cadets is run twice during the academic year for 10 weeks and activities take place once a week for one and half hours at The Digital Hub campus. The young people are recruited from primary schools in The Digital Hub’s local community.
