CoinaPhoto Partners with Griffith College to showcase local talent
Griffith College, known for their excellence in providing industry standard photographic education on their QQI accredited programmes, have partnered with CoinaPhoto to provide their photography student base with an engaging educational opportunity by creating a photography campaign that encourages students to show their personalised view of Dublin.
Fresh, engaging and in a way that directly speaks to Dubliners, the photo contest themed ‘Dublin – My View’ will create a fun sense of competition and reward for talent. Prizes worth €700 will be rewarded to the top three contestants. CoinaPhoto will offer all current and prospective students of Griffith College the chance to showcase their work on a worldwide platform that not only will gain them international exposure but also a real opportunity to sell their work. All of the work submitted by Griffith students will be opened for public to view and also available to purchase on http://www.coinaphoto.com/photo-contest/dublin-my-view .
Photography Programme Director, Sinéad Murphy, has said of the collaboration, “We are always looking to the industry to see what is happening and we love to forge new and relevant links and adding to our support network. We are delighted to join forces with CoinaPhoto to launch this photography competition.”
Shahab Mirza, CEO of CoinaPhoto, wholly welcoming the partnership has claimed “With the Dublin office of CoinaPhoto opening its doors in 2016, we are keen to strengthen the foundation of our platform more than ever, which is built on making it easier to connect talented creatives with buyers from all around the world. For this purpose, we are delighted to join forces with Griffith College to give exposure to budding Dublin student photographers. We are pleased with this union as we look forward to working with talented young photographers who love Dublin as much as we do.”
Judges of the photo contest will include David Levingstone, a photographer with many years experience shooting all walks of life both nationally and internationally. David has worked for Sportsfile, as a photo editor for Getty Images and photographer for iStock. David will be joined by Kenneth O’Halloran, whose style of shooting has gained him an enviable reputation in the industry. His work is widely published in magazines such as TIME, The New York Times Magazine, The Sunday Times Magazine, Le Monde and much more besides. O’Halloran’s work has received many accolades including the Taylor Wessing Portrait Prize and Terry O’Neill Award.
The contest lasts from October 24th to November 14th and winners will be announced on November 25th. Participants must submit their shots via their account on CoinaPhoto’s website www.coinaphoto.com by clicking the ‘Upload Photo’ option after logging in.
