Advanced Metadata contribute to Ireland’s AI Island strategy, and partner with tech giant

Digital Hub based Advanced Metadata were recently recognised for their contribution to the development of Ireland's AI strategy. At the same time, they have announced a partnership with global tech giant Talend, to offer a new solution to help customers address requirements for the European Union’s (EU) GDPR legislation.

On September 18th, 2017, the Irish Development Authority published a report called ‘Ireland – A.I. Island’, on the current state of Artificial Intelligence research and development in Ireland. Digital Hub based Advanced Metadata was named in the report among the top 34 companies operating in this domain in the country.


At the AI Island cross agency event to launch the report, Ken Finnegan, Chief Technologist and Research Advisor with IDA, complimented all the companies for their contributions to the countries AI strategy and national AI curriculum. The full text can be found at:

Ireland has a long standing tradition of investing in AI Research. For over 25 years, the Irish Government has supported industry-academic collaborations with such ground breaking research centres as ADAPT, CeaDAR and LERO. The report outlined the work of these centres and also highlighted that Ireland is the first country in the world to develop an industry-driven, nationwide Post Graduate MSc in Artificial Intelligence.

Allan Beechinor, Chief Technology Officer of Advanced Metadata, is a key contributor to the ongoing work of the A.I. Strategy Group for A.I. Island. Allan is a recognised subject matter expert on A.I. , machine learning and data governance.
