Our Technology

We currently have three products, with more in development.

V-surface is a fully autonomous UV disinfection robot intended to rapidly disinfect surfaces in hospitals and other healthcare settings. Our peer-reviewed research has shown that it can decontaminate hospital rooms to a higher standard, using less than 10% of the resources, and 4X faster than current industry-standard approaches.

V-air is a fully autonomous UV disinfection robot that disinfects the air in poorly ventilated rooms and buildings. Its advanced AI and patent-pending design make it the gold standard in mobile air disinfection.

Akara Tasker is a smartphone app that allows cleaners to log cleaning tasks in real-time, avoiding the need for paperwork. Data collected through the app is accessible by supervisors in real-time and backend automation virtually eliminates the need for back-office administration.

About the Role

Our technology-enhanced approach to cleaning has the potential, once adopted by hospitals, to lead to fewer infections, less room downtime, safer working conditions, and lessened damage to the environment from the use of toxic chemicals. We need you to help get hospitals to adopt our system.

In this role, your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Design electrical systems, PCBs, etc

  • Development of programs on embedded microcontrollers

  • Building embedded prototypes and electrical installation as part of small batch production of robots

  • Testing of new embedded systems and developing SOPs for quality assurance

  • Integration of embedded systems with higher-level control systems

  • Development of IoT sensors and associated technologies

  • Documentation of electrical systems for internal and external use as well as CE marking

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate shares our values (outlined above). They are a proactive individual that naturally thrives working in a fast-paced start-up environment. They are self-motivated, have an eye for detail, can work as part of a team while taking responsibility for their own areas


  • 3+ years experience in a related field

  • Experience developing software for embedded systems (C/C++)

  • Experience designing and constructing electrical systems

  • European work permit


  • Experience with EDA preferably KiCad

  • Experience with communications protocols especially CAN, UART and BLE

  • Good proficiency with git, podman/docker, CI/CD pipelines (Ansible)

  • Experience with ROS (Robot Operating System)/ROS2

  • Experience designing analogue and digital circuits, DC motor control (brushed and brushless), power systems.

  • Experience testing and design for EMI/EMC compatibility

  • Experience with EU and international standards especially for CE marking and quality management systems.

We offer a competitive base salary of €50,000 excluding commission (negotiable). We also offer €10,000 in stock options. We otherwise offer a range of flexible working conditions which can be negotiated on an individual basis.
