Job Description
As an Android Engineer at patientMpower, you will design, implement, and support Android apps that empower patients to better manage their condition. We are looking for someone who can drive best practices for robust, flexible, and configurable Android apps. Patients using these apps come from a wide variety of backgrounds, so implementing features that adhere to high UX standards is extremely important.

Key responsibilities
● Architect and implement performant and usable features in the patientMpower suite of Android apps
● Assisting the design team with feedback on best practices for Android navigation and UI interactions
● Maintaining high standards in unit/integration testing and CI/CD
● High involvement in the full development cycle
● Reviewing code of other engineers
● Working with the product team to scope and prioritise new features
● Debugging and troubleshooting of the code in case of issues
● Creating/maintaining of documents for release of the software

Key requirements and experience
● An honours degree in Computer Science, or other relevant qualification
● 3+ years experience in Android application development
● Experience consuming REST APIs in Android
● Knowledge of Jetpack libraries, particularly Room, LiveData, ViewModel, and WorkManager
● Bluetooth device integration experience
● Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
● Experience working in an agile environment
● Experience with Git

Nice to have (although not essential)
● Experience whitelabelling Android apps
● Experience with Django and the Django REST Framework
● Digital healthcare experience
● Interest in healthcare, specifically in helping people with lung and kidney conditions live better
