ConneXions – Where French & Irish Culture meets Digital Technology 29th September – 1st October 2017
The Digital Hub is delighted to support ConneXions 2017, which takes place in Richmond Barracks, Dublin 8 from September, 29th to October, 1st. To register to attend ConneXions, click here.
The event is organised by the French Embassy in partnership with The Digital Hub, Business France, Dublin French Tech Community, Dublin City Council, Alliance Française Dublin, Fáilte Ireland, Institut français and Linkedin.
Our CEO, Fiach Mac Conghail will be moderating a roundtable on the topic of ‘(sm)art cities: Culture in the digital era’. The table includes Emma Buntin, Head of La Fabrique de la Gaîté Lyrique, Robin Price, Digital Artist, Anita Griffin, Project Manager, Rua Red, Aisling Murray, Exhibitions Producer, Science Gallery
The forum is free of charge and consists of five round-tables based around the following topics:
- What does Big Data bring to urban services?
- Smart cities – Smart citizens
- Smart city: Let’s get down to your business
- (sm)art cities: Culture in the digital era
- e-education: Smart up
These round-tables will take place on Saturday, 30th September, from 10.30am to 4.15pm. More information on these roundtables is available here.
A start-up market will take place in the exhibition area of Richmond Barracks where each start-up will have a stand to present its own innovation. Digital Hub based companies interested in having a stand should email info@connexions.ie.
At the same time and running parallel to the event, a two-day hackathon will take place. During this challenge, teams of participants will compete around the topic ‘Hack your city! Urban renewal and digital technology to shape tomorrows city‘ which deals with digital technology and its relationship to the city.
