Airbnb Payments Summit Fireside Chat – 25/10

Airbnb are holding a Payment Summit Fireside on the evening of Wednesday, October 25^th.  They will have 20 of their payments engineers visiting Dublin, and the event is providing a networking opportunity for engineers from FinTech companies in Dublin to meet up and mingle, and discuss all things payments based.

They have a really interesting company presenting at the event Aid:Tech.  Aid:Tech have launched a Blockchain Payments Value card for refugees and displaced persons to be able to avail of direct charity funding without the need for traditional banking or identification challenges.

This is very close to the mission of Airbnb’s project to help support refugees in providing Open Homes for displaced individuals globally. Airbnb have partnered with ADAPT which is another really interesting organisation connecting research projects of the four main Universities in Ireland with Industry.
