NCAD Sculpture & Expanded Practice Exhibition Opens on May 1st
The NCAD Sculpture & Expanded Practice End of Year Exhibition will launch on Wednesday, May 1st at The Digital Hub’s, Digital Exchange building.
The National College of Art & Design, Department of Sculpture & Expanded Practice, Second Year Exhibition is an opportunity for students to showcase a breadth of interests and media developed over the course of their academic year.
The Department has an emphasis on engaging creatively and building relationships with contexts and people it encounters. Many, but by no means all of the students have approached the Digital Exchanges’ Crane Lane site as an opportunity to consider the legacy of the ROSC exhibitions the were previously held there, others are considering the buildings’ current use, and more still it’s architectural properties. For the students the exhibition will be a learning opportunity in a range of production and installation and mediation skills. For the viewer, a chance to see a wide and vibrant range of materials and media from a thoughtful and inventive group of artists.
The exhibition will be launched with a Preview (5.30pm – 8:30pm) on Wednesday, May 1st. It will then open to the public at the Digital Exchange, Crane Street, The Digital Hub, Dublin 8, D08 HKRS, Thursday & Friday, May 2nd & 3rd. Opening times are from 12pm to 6pm.
