Launch of Immersive Technology Week at The Digital Hub
The Digital Hub invites you to join us for the launch of Immersive Technology Week on Thursday, November 14th. The night will begin with an introduction by our CEO, Fiach Mac Conghail followed by a number of short talks.
- Our Technologist-In-Residence Rodhán Hickey will give an overview of our plans for the week.
- Award winning Stephen Coyle will talk about TiNK AR an Augmented Reality treasure hunt.
- Our Artist-in-Residence Kate Nolan will talk about her experiences with VR and her upcoming talk.
Guests will then have the opportunity to try out TiNK AR an Augmented Reality treasure hunt where players use an app to navigate around the building, hunting down missing machine parts to help the game’s character. You can also pick up your VR Passport and start collecting stamps by checking out a range of experiences in an Oculus Quest virtual reality headset.
Everything from epic rollercoaster rides to fighting in a heavyweight boxing matching, from journeys into space, right back down to earth with a 360° tour of a refugee camp. The Digital Hub Immersive Tech Week will take place at Digital Exchange, Crane Street, The Digital Hub, Dublin 8, D08 HKRS, from 14th November to 20th November excl. Sunday 17th November.
