Effective partnerships for Connected Health
In 2012, The Digital Hub launched Connected Health in collaboration with St. James’s Hospital. The goal of the initiative was to identify companies that could provide digital solutions to healthcare challenges. In 2014, The Digital Hub partnered with the Cork Health Innovation Hub (HIH) which helps identify and establish appropriate ‘test-bed’ facilitates to evaluate and validate new technologies in real-life settings.
At the end of 2014, The Digital Hub became an Irish project partner of the winning KIC (Knowledge and Innovation Communities) in healthy living and active aging led by Trinity College Dublin. This gives companies based at The Digital Hub networking opportunities all over Europe through the KIC consortium’s 200 organisations, academics and industry partners, many of whom are leaders in European healthcare.
Events to highlight healthcare opportunities
The Digital Hub also organises conferences to help early-stage technology companies in Ireland to understand trends and challenges and highlight opportunities in the healthcare sector. ActivAge was a one-day conference held at The Digital Hub in partnership with Mercer’s Institute for Successful Ageing (MISA) at St. James’s Hospital to explore the role of technology in supporting healthy ageing. The Health Innovation Hub Conference, organised by Health Innovation Hub, Abbvie, The Digital Hub, BioInnovate and ICHEC discussed how to overcome challenges through innovation.
