Major new competition asks why Dublin is unique?
People from all over the world are invited to answer the question - "What’s so special about Dublin?" through the “Uniquely Dublin” competition which was recently launched by Dublin City Council and the Little Museum of Dublin.
The Competition aims to re-assert Dublin’s identity in a creative and innovative way. The competition is open to everyone and is divided into seven different categories; animation, film, photography, graphic design, written word, music and visual arts and all entries can be submitted on-line at www.uniquelydublin.ie.
A judging panel will make a shortlist of fourteen entries, two entries from each category, and these entries will be displayed in cinemas, on buses and billboards all over the city and will be put to a public vote. An overall winner will be picked based on the votes received from the public. The winner will receive €10,000 and the chance of having their work displayed throughout Dublin in 2013. Category winners will receive €1,000.
The “Uniquely Dublin” competition is an initiative of Dublin City Council and the Little Museum of Dublin and is being supported by Tourism Ireland, Dublin Regional Authority and the Creative Dublin Alliance.
The competition runs until 28th January, 2013.
