News: V Rising Collaborates in Virtual Learning Domain - 20/01/10

V Rising, National Digital Research Centre (NDRC) and Trinity College have come together to collaborate on a virtual learning project ‘V-Learning’. The project features a 3D learning environment which plugs into existing learning management systems (LMS). This will enable existing e learning providers harness the power of 3D virtual world technology for teaching purposes.

Learning Management Systems are software applications used to administer, track and report a wide range of E-learning programs. By taking advantage of the immersive qualities of virtual worlds, E-learning evolves into V-learning, providing new opportunities for learning experiences.

Users will be able to attend classes, seminars and conferences and engage in simulations, virtual role-playing and training taught in a whole new innovative way. This 3D learning management system plug-in will provide a new medium for content delivery and set Industry standards in the area of virtual learning.

The Continual Professional Development (CPD) and corporate training market will be able to use this technology by managing clients and courses through a system that integrates seamlessly within existing frameworks. Virtual learning spaces will work alongside existing 2D content and Learning management systems.
